Inkpot and Eisner Award recipient Billy Tucci is an American cartoonist best known for his samurai creation Shi, which he began self-publishing with The Way of the Warrior in 1994.
In addition to his own creations, Billy has contributed many works for DC Comics including Jonah Hex, Harley Quinn, Batman, and Flash vs. Superman. His graphic novel, Sgt. Rock: The Lost Battalion, was awarded the Military Writers Society of America Gold Medal for its depiction of the highly decorated, real-life 442nd Regimental Combat Team, which was comprised of US Japanese-American soldiers.
Billy’s earnest retelling of the Christmas story in A Child Is Born has quietly turned into an international blockbuster, winning the Christian Small Publisher Book of the Year Award. His critically acclaimed Miss Fury: Joy Division saw the return of the Golden Age Icon for Dynamite Comics. Billy’s Crusade Fine Arts continues to be a major force in independent comics with the release of several new Shi graphic novels including, Return of the Warrior, Haikyo, Sakura and Gatecrasher as well as the Omnibus Edition Vol. 1, Senryaku Omnibus, Zombie-Sama, ZS2: Dorm of the Dead, and the upcoming Shi: Battleship Island series.
