Paul is the grandson of a trumpet-playing vaudeville comedian and a classically trained actor of stage, film, and television. He is as comfortable in intense, macabre drama as he is in broad musical comedy and has been a professional actor since childhood.
Paul played the role of “Pinhead” in Hellraiser: JUDGMENT in 2018, giving him (as an old actor friend put it) “instant cult status.” For this lifelong fan of all things spooky and ooky, the role was a dream come true. “As a kid, I had three requirements for the perfect Halloween costume: I had to be scary, grotesque, and unrecognizable.”
He has appeared on Broadway in THE LAST EMPRESS, Off-Broadway in AUNT CHOOCH’S BIRTHDAY, at The Kennedy Center in SHEAR MADNESS, and in dozens of Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, Regional theatre, and summer stock productions.
His numerous film and television roles include Sin City (getting his arm broken by Mickey Roarke), SUPER (spanking a baby Rainn Wilson), SOUL MEN (with Bernie Mac and Samuel L. Jackson), WONDERFUL WORLD (with Matthew Broderick), RESERVATION DOGS, THE PURGE (Series), PRISON BREAK and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. He has done voice acting for BAKI THE GRAPPLER, DETECTIVE CONAN, as well as numerous other anime shows.
More recent work includes BUTCHERS BLUFF, BROKEN INNOCENCE, and SICK FOR TOYS.
